Fire Suppression
Fire suppression is the back bone of the fire service. The Getzville Fire Co. was started in 1917 to provide this service as an all volunteer squad. Today the task of extinguishing fires and helping victims from the fire is still job number one. The men and women of Getzville operate using state of the art equipment, so as to give us the best chance of turning a bad situation into the best outcome we can. To do this job the Getzville Fire Co. operates three fire engines (
E-1, E-2, E-3), one ladder truck (L-6), and one heavy rescue (R-5).
